Parent Access Collaborative


Parent Access Collaborative (PAC) shares information and provides speakers on various disability related topics with parents, school districts and agencies throughout Summit, Portage and Medina counties served by SST8.

Under the direction of Parent Consultant, Marianne Lesko, the PAC group will meet four times this school year from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Summit ESC. Networking time follows each meeting.

Upcoming Events

State Support Team Region 8/Parent Access Collaborative (PAC) will offer free workshops! All meetings (*except the November 7, 2018 Field Trip) will be held at the Summit Educational Service Center, and require an RSVP. All meetings at the ESC will have lunch provided to those who RSVP. Flyers will be sent out prior to each meeting with more specific details. September 26, 2018 - County DD Boards and SST8

9:30 am – 1:30 pm
County Boards of DD will provide an overview of their services and how to access them.  SST8 staff will share the latest on ODE, including Preschool and the New Forms.  There will also be a Train-the-Trainer.  Parent-Teacher Partnerships.  

October 10, 2018 - Autism Assistance

9:30 am-1:30 pm
Autism Assistance - Hear information about how Ohio's funding and services are structured, learn how to strategize and provide some case management support for behavioral crisis, and learn about Autism insurance and access treatment.  

November 7, 2018 - Field Trip to UDS

United Disability Services is one of Summit County's largest non-profit providers of comprehensive services for individuals with developmental disabilities.  UDS is also one of the County's largest providers of employment services that range from in-house job training to community employment placement and supports.  

February 13, 2019 - Emotional IQ and Soft Skills

9:30 am – 1:30 pm
A psychologist will explain Emotional IQ and Soft Skills, how we all use them in daily living, what they might look like at different age levels, and strategies we can use to teach these skills to our children and young adults.  This session will also touch on medical diagnosis vs. school indentification and DRO.  

April 17, 2019 - Arc of Ohio

9:30 –1:30 pm
In this open forum you will learn about legislative issues, waivers, changes and updates in DD and Medicaid services, and anything else you wanted to know or ask!
