Parent Access Collaborative (PAC) shares information and provides speakers on various disability related topics with parents, school districts and agencies throughout Summit, Portage and Medina counties served by SST8.

Under the direction of Parent Consultant, Marianne Lesko, the PAC group will meet four times this school year from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Summit ESC. Networking time follows each meeting.  

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring a guest to the PAC meetings.  To register go to our events calendar and click the meeting date.  

Upcoming Events

State Support Team Region 8/Parent Access Collaborative (PAC) will offer free workshops! All meetings (*except the November 7, 2018 Field Trip) will be held at the Summit Educational Service Center, and require an RSVP. All meetings at the ESC will have lunch provided to those who RSVP. Post-secondary options with Kent State University's Career & Community Studies, Bowling Green State University's Clark Inclusive Scholars Program, and Stark State College.  
 
OCALI:  Learn more about OCALI, its mission to inspire change and promote access, and the many resources and tools available for families and professionals to ensure they are equipped to care for, support, educate, employ or work with individuals with disabilities, including the latest OCALI resource Promoting Access.

November 13, 2019 - Field Trip to Portage County DD's Demo Room for Remote Supports

Join us as we visit the Portage County DD Demo Room for Remote Supports. We’ll also hear from a vendor who provides remote supports and a mother and son who use this technology.   

February 12, 2020 - Guardianship and STABLE Accounts

9:30 am – 1:30 pm
A Judge or Magistrate from Summit County Probate Court will guide us through guardianship.  We'll hear from the Treasury of Ohio as they explain STABLE accounts.  They'll also discuss STABLE accounts versus Special Needs Trusts.

April 15, 2020 - Arc of Ohio

9:30 –1:30 pm
In this open forum you will learn about legislative issues, waivers, changes and updates in DD and Medicaid services, and anything else you wanted to know or ask!
