State support Region 8 has partnered with Akron Children's Hospital to offer trauma informed care professional development.  Once again, Melissa McClain wll be facilitating these sessions.  In her role as Community Education Programs Coordinator, Melissa McClain facilitates a school-based mental health and wellness program at schools and community organizations throughout northeast Ohio. She is also a member of the RESPECT Dating Violence Prevention Youth Leadership Board at Children’s. In addition, McClain participates in a variety of organizations related to her responsibilities, including the Ohio Sexual Violence Prevention Network, the Summit County Sexual Assault Coalition, the Summit County Suicide Coalition and the National Child Traumatic Stress Planning Team.
