2018 Franklin B. Walter Award Recipient

Tim incorporates many high-impact strategies in his everyday teaching closing the gap for his 5th grade students as they make great reading gains, gain confidence and learn that they CAN read.  Many for the first time in their school careers. Tim is respected and valued by every student within the classroom. He reaches every struggling student, whether on his caseload or not, building relationships with all students.

Tim excels in engaging his students coming up with fun and creative ways to present all forms of information using manipulatives, games, whiteboards, picture cues, foldables, songs and so much more to ensure he is meeting each student’s need. He reaches out to the Middle School teachers and intervention specialists to check on past students as well as advise them on students coming in the next year to ensure that each of his students are transitioning as smoothly as possible.
