This first session of a multi-year series is structured around district implementation teams collaborating to complete the District Capacity Assessment (DCA) for MTSS. Through facilitated discussion of the components of MTSS at all 3 Tiers of Support, teams will assess their district’s capacity to identify what parts of their system are already in place, what needs to be improved, and what still needs to be done. Ultimately, teams will determine how well their district-wide systems of support can help schools implement MTSS and determine if the system is sustainable. Teams will use this data to help develop a MTSS Implementation Action Plan. Those action plans will guide the course of this series and session topics, method(s) of PD delivery, and intensity of support from SST8 and ESC consultants.
The research basis for the DCA was derived from the Implementation Science research literature as well as research literature focused on the components of MTSS.
