Adolescent Literacy Regional Meetings

What: A day of regional learning and discussion to explore the adolescent literacy component of Ohio’s Plan to Raise Literacy Achievement. Led by Ohio Department of Education Adolescent Literacy Specialists, participants will explore the definition of adolescent literacy and how to create a culture of learning to promote higher achievement for adolescents. Presenters will provide an overview of content area literacy, disciplinary literacy and individualized intensive interventions focused on literacy. Participants will engage in planning activities to address making adolescent literacy achievement a priority in their districts/buildings.
 
Who: Leadership teams of grades 4-12. The Department suggests superintendents, curriculum directors, special education directors, building administrators, literacy coaches and teacher leaders.
