Children with chronic and/or intense challenging behaviors require specially designed and individualized interventions that match the function of the challenging behavior. A simple functional behavioral assessment (FBA) is conducted to create a summary statement that forms the basis for a child’s behavior intervention plan (BIP). These two sessions will explore conducting a simple FBA and creating a BIP for an individual child using The Early Childhood Model of Individualized Positive Behavior Support (PBIS): Prevent, Teach Reinforce for Young Children (PTR-YC). PTR-YC is a team-based model of individualized positive behavior support at Tier 3 of the PBIS framework. The team will collaboratively go through a set of steps to end up with a plan to support each child. Completion of PBIS Tier 1 and Tier 2 training is required before registering for Tier 3
