Nominations for 2020 Outstanding Special Educator/Student with Disability Awards
Awards
SST-8 is now accepting nominations for the 2020 Franklin B. Walter Outstanding Special Educator and R.A. Horn Outstanding Student Achievement awards.  As always, we look forward to learning more about the excellent educators making a difference every day in your schools, and the incredible kids whose resilience and perseverance know no limits.

Unfortunately, due to public health considerations, neither the Summit ESC nor the Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities (OCECD) will be hosting an award ceremony in 2021. We encourage districts to honor their student nominees through local awards events, a Board of Education ceremony, displays at school buildings, etc. SST-8 will honor all nominees by sending them a Certificate of Achievement and including their photo in a regional gallery of honorees; and will still identify one regional student finalist to be included in a statewide recognition of Franklin B. Walter and R. A. Horn awardees.

Districts are asked to nominate no more than 3 students and 1 educator or educator team.  We ask that each district's Student Services Director submit their student and/or educator nominations to SST8, to help streamline the process.  Submission of all nomination materials will be through Google docs upload.
