Across the state of Ohio, chronic absenteeism is a major concern for districts.  While the 22-23 school year showed progress in Chronic Absenteeism, the Ohio schools have not returned to pre-pandemic levels. Student attendance is directly linked to student performance, graduation rates, and predictive work performance.

During the 2.5 hour session, SST8 consultants will lead you through identifying root causes, strategies to combat absenteeism, and time to create a plan.  Along with the plan development, SST8 will assist you in developing early warning triggers and progress monitoring the chronic absenteeism work.
Audience : LEAs within Region 8

SST8 and the ESC are working collaboratively on Chronic Absenteeism.  In the afternoon of the 2nd, the ESC will sponsor the Attendance Solutions Alliance.  This is a group of interdisciplinary stakeholders invested in decreasing the rates of chronic absenteeism among K-12 students. The purpose of this meeting is to continue problem-solving discussions to create innovative solutions to address chronic absenteeism.  If you would like to attend the afternoon session, please visit the Summit ESC event registration.
